NGL basically has the common equipment normally used in laboratories but it also has modern instruments such as spectrometers, colorimeters, proportional meters and all that allows for a correct and absolutely non-invasive diagnosis of the stone or jewel.
Some examples:
REFRACTOMETER: an instrument used to determine the refractive index of the examined stone in order to allow its identification.

SPECTROSCOPE ON KRUSS BASE KL 14: is an instrument that allows you to see the electromagnetic spectrum emitted by the stone.
GRATING SPECTROSCOPE
CONOSCOPE: An instrument used to distinguish uniaxial from the biaxial ones.
DICHROSCOPE: instrument that allows you to see the pleochroism of a stone.Pleochroism is is the variation of the color due to the different absorption of light by the stone.
BOX UV: a box used to examine the reactions of stones subjected to UV radiation at both long-wave 365 um and short-wave 254 um
GEMETRIX JEWELLERY INSPECTOR: Additional tool for testing the reactions of the stones to UV radiation
SET OF TOUCHSTONE GEMS: a set composed of stones that are used to identify, by means of comparison, the color of diamonds
OXIBO LAMP: a professional lamp that allows to examine gems, both diamonds and colored gems, under a suitable light, with different possibilities gradation
LED LAMP: 6500 K. Temperature
METTLER SCALE: high precision computerized scale
DENSITY KIT: It’s used, together with the Mettler scale, to determine the density of the stone that is being examined.
HOAUS SCALE: precision scale for carats

SPECTROMETER UV-VIS-NIR
GemmoSphere™ is a small but powerful UV-Vis-NIR spectrometer specifically designed and built for diamond & gemological laboratories.
It's main purpose is for verifying natural origin of colorless diamonds, but this technology is also widely used in other areas, such as for testing fancy colored diamonds, sapphires, emerald, spinel, tourmaline and jadeite.
GemmoRaman-532™ is fully automatic Raman & Photoluminescence (PL) spectrometer for gemological testing and analysis. This non-destructive tool is fast and reliable.
PHOTOLUMINESCENCE SPECTROMETER
It uses advanced spectroscopy for detecting natural diamonds. It works for loose and mounted stones starting from less than 0.005ct.It detects natural diamond by analysing it's photoluminescence spectrum. The samples are illuminated with strong longwave ultraviolet light (LWUV) which is almost invisible yet harmful for eyes.
In practice, it is a strong long-wave ultraviolet lamp on the tip of the coaxial flexible probe, combined with a sensitive spectrometer which presents the emission spectrum of the fluorescent gems on the screen, making it possible to examine it.
FOURIER TRANSFORM INFRARED SPECTROMTER
is a mandatory tool in the modern gemological laboratory. It is routinely used for testing some of the most important gems such as diamond, emerald, corundum, alexandrite, jade, amethyst, amber and turquoise.
ELECTRONIC GRADING SYSTEM :
Used to estimate the cut quality and proportion of any gem.
